A homesteader's house deep in the mountains of Western North Carolina kept company by a mountain stream.
Photographic Journal (October 13, 2022):
I had started my day looking to photograph elk against the beautiful fall foliage of Western North Carolina; but as the morning sun progressed, the landscapes around me came alive in a blaze of colors. As I took it all in, wandering along a creek bed, I came across this homesteader's house nestled away in the saddle of a ridge line. The colors in the trees and brush started to ignite as the sun slid out from behind the clouds.
As I quickly set up my camera low against the creek, and a small rock-built dam to capture the image you now see. I thought it looked so peaceful and rustic, I would entitle it, "Rustic".
