I came to Lake Junaluska searching for a little stillness.
Life can get heavy sometimes, crowded with responsibilities, questions, and the kind of thoughts that keep your heart restless. So I made my way to the lake, hoping to slow down, breathe deeply, and spend a little time reflecting on where I’ve been and where God is leading me.
As I stood near the water, the swans moved across the lake with such calm and beauty that it was impossible not to feel a sense of peace. They seemed untouched by the noise of the world, just gliding across the surface as if they were carrying a quiet reminder that not everything in life has to be rushed.
I had come to reflect, to be present, and simply enjoy the gift of the morning.
But as a photographer, I have learned that when God places beauty in front of me, it is often meant to be shared.
Then this swan came close to the shore, surrounded by the deep green leaves and mirrored in the dark, still water. It was one of those moments that felt both peaceful and personal, a small gift from God placed right in front of me.
So I raised my camera and captured what He had provided.
Not just a photograph of a swan, but a moment of grace.
This image reminds me that even in seasons of reflection, when we come searching for peace, God has a way of meeting us there, often through the quiet beauty of His creation.
And sometimes, if we are paying attention, He gives us something beautiful to carry home and share with others.
